A new romantic era, proclaiming ethereal murals and powerful aesthetics grounded in a bohemian style, can be found in central London, in the historic building once home to Bow Street Magistrates’ Court and Police Station.
As the result of the inauguration of Sydell Group’s NoMad hotel inspired by the vision of its founder Andrew Zobler, the project endeavours to respect the original spirit of the building, as well as the historic Covent Garden area where it is located. With the intervention of New York-based interior design studio Roman and Williams, its 91 rooms create a powerful narrative, “balancing the tension of the masculine character of the building and the lightness” of the refurbished space and inviting guests to experience a “journey of discovery”.

In keeping with the tradition of NoMad hotels, the artistic, cultural and historical interplay between the original city, New York, and the new London address continues to be exploited through the fusion of grandiose and intimate spaces.

The highlights include the Side Hustle restaurant, a New York influenced version of a British pub; the library, named after the new living room; the first NoMad lounge; and the 9,000-square-foot new Magistrates’ Ballroom, dedicated to private functions and dinners.
