Attitude 89: Personal

  • The wish to train our sights on people who, on the most varied of creative fronts, stand out for the distinct and unique qualities of their work, combined with our usual close relationship with the materials we publish, takes on a particular visibility in this edition which we have called, quite simply, Personal.
For this reason, we have reached out to the faces (not always visible) and the personal stories that give shape to projects, pieces and spaces that attract us, tailoring a selection of contents intended to be as broad and ‘humanised’ as possible.
Architects, designers, illustrators, photographers, artists and other creatives take centre-stage in an edition that is practically dedicated to giving a voice to a community of Portuguese talents and initiatives – countering the tendency for this attention to be focussed all too often on the same (generally speaking, better-known) names.
This stimulating journalistic quest – unending by nature – led to gathering together a group of people who, enjoying greater or lesser visibility, with more or less recognition, contribute to a new perspective and a new acclamation of Portuguese identity.
Being the independent publication that we are and taking pride in our much-valued editorial freedom, we are determined to be true to our beliefs: to share with you accounts, stories and inspiration, with an approach that is always close and familiar.
An edition “from people to people”, that is what we wanted to reach your hands. Explore it, at your leisure, until the very last page.
