Attitude 88: Offline

  • Offline. A preference for a more leisurely register – of a digital nature from the outset – in a society seduced by the logic of immediacy and speed, provided the motivation for the preparation of one more edition of Attitude.
This number brings together the things that thrilled us the most at Salone del Mobile in Milan – that international design mecca – including various exclusive interviews, such as with Britt Moran and Emiliano Salci from Dimore Studio (page 36) and the architect, designer and art director, Piero Lissoni, on the occasion of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Living Divani (page 52).
Encouraging this need to slow down – and the ability to give ourselves over entirely to the enjoyment of the moment per se – we have expanded the Places section (page 66), proposing the exploration of a variety of places that evoke a different rhythm and that have the ability to promote a new sense of being.
Reinforcing our offline mode, in this edition we decided to forgo the online addresses usually suggested in our WWW section; in Mood (page 112) we went exploring the interiors of Palácio da Boiça to present you with a selection of outdoor furniture, ideal to fully enjoy these hotter days.
We also highlight our architects With Attitude, the couple Fei and Chris Precht, the creative duo behind the Precht Studio (page 44) who – working from the Austrian mountains close to Salzburg – enjoy the freedom needed for projecting solutions focussed on the vital balance between people, buildings and plants.
Finally, explore the albums that we suggest in the Sounds section (page 110), making them into your Summer soundtrack, while savouring the pages that follow. Wishing you enjoyable reading!
