It’s near the Estrela gardens, in this charming Lisbon neighbourhood, that we discover the city’s latest club, a discreet and welcoming space that invites us to apply the brakes to our daily rhythm, transporting us to warm summer days.
Designed for all those who seek to combine “physical, professional, emotional and social activities”, João Gameiro, founder of Studio Gameiro was tasked with designing a space capable of “promoting social interaction in the city”, maintaining “the eclectic, calm register of a variety of local and international influences”. Resorting to materials such as wicker, stone or floor tiles, The Gladstone evokes exotic oriental atmospheres, while constantly alluding to Portuguese architecture, a preference that is revealed in the Pombaline influence, “through the Santo-André frames used in the wooden structure of the wicker shutters”, as well as in the analogy “to the raised terraces typical of homes in the Alentejo”.

Comprising a private gym, lounge, therapy areas and a bar and café, there are also pieces designed by the studio itself, such as sofas standing on Moleanos stone and the reception counter, whose geometrical stone shapes draw inspiration from the paving in the garden in front of the building.
