Signed by the architecture and interior design agency ARCHITECTS OFFICE, Apartamento Galeria is the perfect fusion of tradition and contemporaneity, where design combines aesthetics and functionality.
Located in a 1970s building in São Paulo, the new project by famous architect Gregory Bousquet is like an art gallery, where all the pieces are unique and meticulously selected. Inspired by Haussmannian architecture, this space takes on an irreverent and unconventional design, with time for silence and contemplation.
Every object has been put in its place with an intention, as if the house were part of a conversation between architecture, design and the couple who live here, turning mundane acts into superior experiences.
The design of the Apartamento Galeria opposes a consumerist and disposable view of objects. The pieces of art and furniture selected have been manufactured with special care by renowned artists, taking quality and aesthetics into account. For the couple, living poetically means surrounding themselves with authorial, beautiful, and meaningful pieces.
Designed by the French architect Gregory Bousquet, the project includes an office, a cinema room, and a bar, in addition to the usual social areas (living room and dining room). These areas have been arranged dynamically, facilitating interaction with guests.
Curatorship and interior design
Upon entering the Apartamento Galeria, the imposing hall, in white tones and with marble accents, distributes the circulation of the space, presenting three distinct directions - the kitchen, the dining room or the most intimate area of the house.
The bar area features a Wyllis sideboard by architect Arthur Casas for ETEL, two Tre Pezzi armchairs by Cassina, a tea trolley by designer Adalfan Filho, and a Wooding drinks table. The candlestick from Dpot Objeto and the lamp from Dimlux emphasise this gallery's luxurious and elegant features.
The dining room's centrepiece is the Amorfa table, designed by Arthur Casas for Micasa. It is accompanied by dark green armchairs designed by Jorge Zalszupin in partnership with ETEL. A black metal lamp with milky glass globes by Astep, also by Micasa, is placed on the table.
Like an art gallery, the living room features a sofa by Edra, combined with two armchairs: one by Baxter in white and the second by designer Pierre Paulin, upholstered in a toasted yellow fabric specially for this space. The side tables, which complement the room, are by Leonardo Lague for Micasa.
The office area features an elegant Patricia Urquiola Floe Insel sofa and a marble table by Rain Studio. It also has a Japanese Santa & Cole paper lamp and two ETEL armchairs. ARCHITECTS OFFICE designed the panel housing the television exclusively for this project.
The cinema room is in the most private area of the house with access to the bedrooms and the couple's suite. In this space, comfort is guaranteed by the Pillow sofa by Estúdio Bola, combined with an antique wooden cabinet with boiserie details and fluted glass doors.
The flat suite comprises an anteroom, two walk-in wardrobes and two bathrooms. The Italian marble finishes on the floor, walls and bathroom fittings have been kept here. The wallpaper used in this space was hand-painted and designed, especially for Apartamento Galeria by the artist Nathalie Morhange.
Patricia Urquiola designed the bed in the bedroom, which is upholstered in blue velvet. The architects chose pieces from Olho, ETEL, and Vitra for the bedside tables. Two armchairs from Micasa, covered in black leather and off-white fabric, are also in the bedroom.
Inspiring environments, chairs that cradle the body and the spirit, and tables that invite work and admiration. The Galeria Apartment is a constant dialogue between vintage and contemporary, a result that reflects the personality of the residents and challenges silence and involvement with the space on a deeper level.
