We are on the eastern side of Greece’s greenest island, Zakynthos, perched on the hill in Tsilivi, where we uncover the latest project conceived by the Athens and Stockholm-based practice Block722architects. Peaceful, contemporary and breathtaking: Olea All Suite Hotel is a relaxing oasis painted with green and blue tones, embellished by a deep sense of mindfulness and relaxation.

“The idea was to introduce a resort that embraces everything that makes this island so wonderful, but in a contemporary way. From its warm-hearted people and unique ingredients of local cuisine, to the lush vegetation and the majestic beaches,” explained Venia Xenou, one of the responsible for the project. The answer would end up taking shape through the use of natural materials, such as rustic oak wood, bamboo or rattan, taking the most of the existing vegetation.

Katja Margaritoglou, co-founder and interior designer of the studio, believes that the connection between the interiors and the exteriors plays the key role in this project. The hotel invites us to explore the resort and enjoy a truly sensorial experience, appealing to our senses as an authentic wellness retreat. There are countless options - to rejuvenate at the Wellness Spa & Relaxation, train at the fully equipped gym, relax at the beauty salon or unwind at the yoga pavilion. Even though, the ex-libris of this place remains a 4000 square metres man-made lake, a natural meeting point with suites and hotel facilities. An experience that can only be completed by tasting all the delicious culinary options that tap into Greek and Mediterranean flavours with a creative spin.
