A new iconic and elegant restaurant is born in the heart of the borough Vesterbro, in Copenhagen.

Henrik Jyrk, IBU’s head chef, has embellished this project with dishes from Malaysian cuisine, while using some of the best Danish ingredients. More than exciting and flavorful combinations, such as Chili-crab and Kimchee, this is a place “where you can come and spend a couple of hours, but you can spend the whole evening too”, explains Jyrk.

Responsibility for the interior design was handed over to Ferm Living practice, which succeeded into transforming IBU restaurant into a intimate and contemporary place, with classic and earthy details. For Trine Andersen, founder and creative director of the brand, even if a restaurant is different from a home, they wanted to design a space “that had some of the same elements, so we set out to create an atmosphere that feels nice, welcoming, and comfortable”.

The cosy mood, the dim lighting and the symmetrical lines are part and package of the essential ingredients for the success of the restaurant, that transforms IBU into a place in which you want to linger, no matter what your option is - you can choose between an intimate little table for the date, a large round table for a party or just sit at the bar, where you can experience the magic in the kitchen.
