Founded by Rachel and Nick Cope, Calico Wallpaper began with the inspiration to move art beyond the frame and incorporate its elements into everyday interior spaces. Through experimentation with the re-appropriation of traditional art forms, and the digital enlargement of unique, handmade patterns, the idea was born to create custom fit, non-repeating wall murals.
Balancing background and foreground, texture, color and pattern to create immersive environments, they are continually exploring the expressive possibilities of living space. Rachel and Nick work to blend the beauty, play and abstractions of art with the functional utility of design, thereby creating a product that inspires and invigorates the backdrops of their lives.

The Cloudsley Road is one of their recent projects, a sophisticated scheme with a Scandinavian edge, combining fine handcrafted British skills with touches of leather, marble and glass. 2 Lovely Gays (2LG) framed Calico’s Wabi Bone, tying together the gold accents around the room and transforming their wallpaper back into an art piece.

But there are others examples: the custom accent wall created for the Specht Architects for their newest residence in Beach Haven, the custom installation created to adorn the walls of Camron PR’s offices in London’s East End, and so many others.

Watch some examples in the photos bellow.
