The project Muralla Roja was built in the 1970s on a costal area on the Alicante region in Spain. Developed by Ricardo Bofill – Taller de Arquitectura, presents a reinterpretation of the adobe architecture from North Africa, making a reference to the kasbash tradition.
Standing out as a fortress the Muralla Roja marks a vertical silhouette that accompanies the natural shapes of the cliff. Color was introduced to distinguish the diverse architectural elements, making this project unique.
