“The idea of creating one’s personal space and achieving it is the most satisfying aspect of the project”.
Kanso House is a project that translates easily: a modern house with simple lines and a warm and natural colour palette, traditionally zen. A blend of traditional Japanese design styles makes the space harmonious, creating an environment of relaxation that functions almost as an inner, eternal sanctuary from the stresses of life in the outside world.

Following the client's brief, which revolved around the strong influence of Japanese design, it was essential to develop and display minimalism as the Japanese confluence culture in design. Also, personal spaces should be treated as memorials, for example, that first scribble of your child that sits proudly framed on the living room wall. Following this thought, the idea design considered creating a space that was dynamic in nature. That way, the sunlight could travel till the end of the room, allowing the user to recreate his personal habitat every now and then, bringing energy and calm to the entire space.

They say that harmony is close to nature, and once we bring it into the house, the world begins to live in a balanced symphony. Thinking about the colours of nature, the pale blue of the sky, the dark grey of the rocks and the golden beige of the beach sand, Kanso House is a habitat inspired by the surroundings and the natural details that prevail. Each material is palpable and has captivating textures, such as the soft floor that allows you to walk barefoot while enjoying the subtle play of light and shadows created by the sunlight that floods Kanso House.
