Located in Flatiron, Manhattan, just off Madison Square Park, this office is housed in an old building built in 1912.
Before the intervention of designer Christina Loucks, we found a large space, mostly empty, with oak floors, commercial lighting and glass partitions that delineated the work areas.
Working in a “gorgeous, empty NYC loft, a female-founded company, and an opportunity to build out and furnish the space with more of a residential feel and a feminine nod” was, from the start, a very attractive idea for the designer.

About the biggest challenge faced during the execution of this remodeling, the designer Christina Loucks says that it was the fact that this project started in February, even before the pandemic. “That was the main challenge dealing with overseas production for a lot of the pieces, working away from the space, getting Millwork pieces fabricated locally during random shutdowns, furniture arriving with the wrong fabric, millwork arriving incorrectly built. The list goes on. But in the end, it all came out lovely but took beyond a year to complete”.

Natural tones and curved lines stand out, making the space “naturally feminine”, but not too literal. Inspired by Scandinavian design, the designer opted for natural white oak, making the space simpler, wider and more open.

“A warm, inviting space rich with smooth and seamless details that move effortlessly through the space evoking an awareness of detail but not overly residential or professional.”
