Set in Kyiv, this house conceived by Elena Kisenko and Sergey Somkin from local studio Dezest embraces the natural landscape, creating a modern oasis that can be both comfortable and contemporary. The intervention carried out in this property of 583 square meters matched the pre-existing layout, with the main entrance located on the north side.

The team explained how they “tried to use all the energies to the maximum, so the clients could live by the sun, surrounded by water energy”. The preference for materials such as concrete and stone, in contrast with the use of wood on the interiors, enhance the different textures, showcasing an imposing structure on the outside and a warm ambience on the inside.

The main room, that brings together the kitchen, dining and living areas, has “a favorable orientation to 3 directions of the world - east, southeast and southwest -” while the pergola in the terrace, along with the swimming pool, create a microclimate on the south side. At the end of the day, the fireplace becomes the favourite place for the owners to enjoy slow readings and calm conversations while the panoramic glazing and double-light spaces offer agreeable views over the surroundings.
