The London based design studio PearsonLloyd recently unveiled a new collection for the workplace company Teknion. Including furniture and accessories, the collection marks the beginning of an on-going collaboration with the Canadian company to develop research about the future of the workplace.
PearsonLloyd’s designers defend the detrimental role played by furniture on a working place. “Increasingly workplace culture has shifted towards more humane, rather than mechanistic, environments. This movement, coupled with the desire for a healthy workplace, is discussed in Teknion’s paper on ethonomics and informed many of the ideas behind the PearsonLloyd collection”.
The materials – essentially wood and marble – were used in its purest state. The collection includes love seat, table, hat rack and table top accessories, and “expresses ideas of well-being, community and collaboration found in the contemporary workplace”.
