Situated in the heart of London’s Mayfair, the reincarnated Hélène Darroze at the Connaught not only showcases a new menu, reflecting the chef’s locally-sourced cuisine, but also features a new Armagnac Room as well as an exclusive Chef’s Table food and wine-pairing experience. Designed by Paris-based interior architect Pierre Yovanovitch, the restaurant’s elegant environment is as playful as refined as one could have expected.

Taking heed of the hotel’s language and Hélène Darroze’s exceptional cuisine, the restaurant translates these values into contemporary lines, combining hand-worked woods, ceramics, and craft techniques. Nearly every element of the interiors was customized by the interior architect and his team, from the floor coverings and waiters stations to the chairs, tables, and lighting. In parallel, the preference for materials such as leather, velvet, oak or metal enhances the sense of comfort and sophistication, not only at the main dining space but also at the Chef’s Table dining area.

Here, the customized chairs and table with pink marble top and patinated metal base are complemented by terrazzo flooring, contemporary light oak wood paneling and a fresco signed by the artist Rochegaussen.

“The re-design of the restaurant celebrates craftsmanship. The touch of femininity and lightness he has introduced to the restaurant allows me to present my menus at their very best and shine a light on these producers”, reveals Hélène Darroze.
