The furniture pieces by Muller Van Severen are the result of gathering the talent of photographer Fien Muller and sculptor Hannes Van Severen. This project started in 2011 with the presentation of their first objects, and rapidly gained international recognition having been nominated for several design awards.
Their furniture sculptures, as the Belgian duo likes to call them, present thin metal structures, complemented with colourful details. Functionality is an essential component of their approach and, naturally, one of the most important characteristics of their furniture. Some pieces can be used by two people, or combine several functions such as sittings, storing, working or relaxing, all in the same object.
During their latest exhibition in 2014 at the gallery Valeria Traan in Antwerp, the book Muller Van Severen was launched.
