The second edition of the Portuguese Makers Craft Week has already been scheduled for 3 September and will once again bring together producers, architects, designers and the simply curious. Following last year’s venue at Casa de Santa Maria in Cascais, this year the gardens at Serralves will provide the stage for various workshops and informal classes over six days, dedicated to “stimulating and raising the awareness of participant’s creativity.”

Techniques and materials will be among the themes dealt with by various well-known figures such as Joana Astolfi and Gonçalo Prudêncio from Portugal and Nicholai Wiig Hansen from Denmark. In a relaxed setting, the participants will have opportunities to learn about a range of production processes and will be challenged to create unique objects which may later be produced and launched on the market under the brand Serralves - Portuguese Makers Craft Week Special Edition.

“Amateurs and professionals will be able to create anything from a desk object drawn with a Viarco pencil, to a soap package for Claus Porto, or customise their own piece for a Vista Alegre dinner set or even create their own lamp for Get a Light”, the team explains.

Serralves Park will be the watchword for an intense week of “making it happen”, also organised in partnership with the foundation. For all those interested, Attitude Interior Design offers a 25% discount on the registration fee, through the application of the promotional code Portuguese Makers with Attitude. Registration is limited and should be done here.
