We are at the Ibirapuera Park, in the heart of São Paulo, where we uncover this vivid and delicious residence, conceived by Mariana Andersen and Mariana Guardani, from the Brazilian studio Casa 14 Arquitetura. This three-story house was designed for a writer and wanted to bring together different spaces where he could rest, work and gather with friends.

The answer would end up taking shape through a fresh and contemporary approach, marked by the abundance of daylight and the presence of artworks. “The furniture sheds light on the Brazilian design and the art pieces and carpets establish a counterpoint to the absence of ornaments and the straight lines of the residence”, explained the practice. The profusion of nature is also brought into the home through the generous openings in the walls, enhancing the relationship between the environment and the house.

A sense of space is one of the most apparent characteristics in this home, with the purpose of each space being attributed naturally and intuitively. On the first level, we find the rooms, the kitchen and the service area. The second floor fulfills the need for an absolutely quiet and inspiring working area, with a library composed of five thousand titles and a garden where he can read and write. The social areas, composed by a music studio, hot tub, sauna and a barbecue, define the last floor, that becomes the perfect place to relax at the end of the day.
