It’s in a new concrete building in Kiev, that we find the seductive apartment designed for a former client’s mother. Olha Wood, the practice behind the project, imagined a colorful and elegant interior that could also answer the client’s wishes - a home with a indoor garden, a yoga space and room enough for two sofa beds to house overnight guests.

The living room, with its floor-to-ceiling windows and an embedded garden, invites us to enjoy the skyline views on the 28th floor. But it is through the geometry of the objects and the colour scheme of dominant colours, emphasised by pink and green, that the essence of this residence is revealed: individual furniture is combined with recognized brands such as Bulthaup and Moroso and three types of wood - oak with fishbone pattern structure on a floor, Plywood in a bathroom and living area and patterned cherries wood - fill the space with different textures and feelings.

“Instead of walling the apartment off, we designed partitions that help divide the spaces up without closing them off. Cherry wood panels form the living and pair nicely with the pink sofa and yellow chairs”, explained the practice. The bathroom and wardrobe can be reached from the bedroom and include a B&B Italia bed and a colourful carpet by Designers Guild, matching the interiors tones.
