The Labyrinth

The proposal behind this playground structure started from a rather uncommon premise for this type of equipment: to strengthen the bounds between parents and children, through the use of this space.

The structure, named by the designers of Supermachine Sudio as a community playground, is a cement labyrinth painted in a bright red, that allows for at least ten different path combinations, that, they defend, can be as much fun for children as for adults.

Located in a park on the seafront in Bangsaen – a coastal city in Thailand – The Labirinth is also an excellent viewpoint for the surrounding landscape. It's expected that, with time, the existing vegetation will blend with the structure.

The project was commissioned by Siam Cement Group, the biggest construction materials company in Thailand, to celebrate its 100th anniversary by promoting the construction of infrastructures that will serve small populations. Within this celebration, a library and a multipurpose pavilion will also be built.
